All the veggies were from the farm & organic, except the onions.

steamed Brussels sprouts (tiny cute ones, cut off two 2-foot stalks)
beet greens and spinach sauteed with onion and garlic
roasted sweet dumpling squash
[roasted beets made but not peeled and eaten]
roasted boneless salmon steaks topped with hot pepper jam
chai chocolate chocolate bread pudding (didn't have soy milk, so tried some chai concentrate instead; it worked.)

Last week's parsha [1] was "Lech L'cha" [2], the name of which I happen to like because the two words look exactly the same in Hebrew without vowels (which is how lots of Hebrew is written).
This got long... )

Blisters can be just as fascinating as scabs, though in a differnt way. I'm amazed I can see part of my fingerprint across the blister on my fingertip.
The other is a beige Uluru rising from my finger, just as abrupt and unexpected.

[Note to self: even after 5 minutes in a warm oven, things can get hot. Very hot. Especially if there's sugar in them... stupid, stupid, stupid]

I am highly entertained by the stuff the Oregon Chai people decided to put on the box.

By the spout: "Retrieval Portal"
On one side, under the nutrition information: "Manufactured for Oregon Chai Inc., Portland, Oregon 97209 without the consent of the Dalai Lama, but we sent him a case and some Three Stooges movies so we expect to hear from him soon."
On the other side: "Mispronunciation of Oregon Chai may result in derisive snickering." (Candy?) and, under a reminder to recycle the container, "Remember - it's a small planet, but you wouldn't want to paint it."
