How strange. I heard the rain falling on the skylight this morning, and snuggled into the comforter, happy in the dry warmth. By the time I was getting ready to commute, the rain was visible. Wait... that's snow out there! It had just changed over (my poo r plants, out on the porch, though the radio weather keeps insisting it's 38 degrees, so they shouldn't freeze), and I knew the drive would be a bit worse than usual. As it turned out, not too much worse, the snow still rather wet and slushy. And now, I l ook out the office window, and see real clumps of snow falling, not slushy at all. It's beautiful, yet so strange to see completely-leaved trees wearing their jacketing of snow.
Supposed to get up to 50 degrees later today.

I wonder what this winter will be like...

[Mere minutes later, the large snowflakes are gone, and the almost-sleet is back. Fleeting beauty.]

[Four hours later, the sun is out, there are fluffy white clouds in a blue sky, and nary a trace of precipitation. Massachusetts weather at its best....]

Last night I went to the preview night of the Brandeis theater department's production of The Laramie Project, a sort of group creation by the Tectonic Theater Project's going to Laramie, Wyoming, after the brutal beating and death of a gay university student in 1998.

I've been looking at more cook books recently, and having the veggie bounty. Lots of thoughts recently of things to try.
