Enterprise farm share
Apr. 22nd, 2009 05:20 pmWell, the newsletter is not up on the farm's site, so I know what, but not always from where.
Only one grapefruit this week suggests that the citrus is tailing off. I made a batch of pink grapefruit marmalade this morning with all but last week's grapefruit (ie, 7 grapefruit used, 3 extant from last week), so I'm almost caught up on them, but am still inundated with oranges. It doesn't help that I feel a sort of obligation to use the peel/zest if I can, because I'd rather use as much of the organic fruit as possible.
Other than the citrus, I have a backlog on salad stuff, but am otherwise up to date. I really should focus on green salads for the next week, which would be more likely if I acquire appropriate proteins (feta, or some kind of pink fish, or chicken breast). Note to self: there are also chives available on the back porch.
Happy Earth Day!
