Shabbat dinner
Jul. 27th, 2003 08:40 amFriday night I was lucky enough to have the company of ButRachel and Wildraven for dinner. I'd been somewhat worn out by trying to do too much this week, so it was a relatively simple meal: challah rolls, kalamata olive hummus, chicken cooked with rice and chickpeas, and a green salad (featuring mizuna, purslane, basil, red and green leaf lettuces), followed by baked peaches and plums, and mango-tangerine sorbet. Unfortunately, I'd forgotten the need to avoid anything onion. Feh. It annoys me when I don't remember things like that, especially with something as ubiquitous as onion... However, everyone was gracious about it :-), and I was able to let it go after a bit, and concentrate on interesting conversation instead, about relationships, and the end of camp, and changing lives.

Date: 2003-07-27 06:04 am (UTC)ok, seriously - I will sure try to make it there!
I could try to book a shoot with Remax offices, (I just shot headshots of Atlanta agents in a couple offices), THAT would pay for my trip out there!

Date: 2003-07-27 09:24 am (UTC)onions
Date: 2003-07-27 10:58 am (UTC)If they hit my throat, it feels like a combination of flaming charcoal and broken glass which often causes a reaction of my throat/mouth creating projectile dinners...
Or... if powder manages to get into my system, I hive up and become itchy all over.
If I am 1-2 rooms away from where someone is cooking onions, my eyes water, become red, then swell to where I run in agony and put my face under a running cold water.
:-(

Date: 2003-07-27 11:31 am (UTC)Thanks so much for dinner. It was great food and even better company...
And we appreciate you making a dinner that was "Tony and Rachel friendly"
Re: onions
Date: 2003-07-27 11:34 am (UTC)I'm glad you enjoyed dinner (though I have to say it wasn't quite as "Tony friendly" as I'd've chosen). I think I need a do-over...
(an excuse for your company, too :-).
