Private Circus
Aug. 29th, 2002 09:49 amPrivate Circus had a (free) concert in a music store at a shopping plaza along Rte. 28 last night. I know the drummer, and wanted to go.
It's weird to sit on folding chairs set in and around a store's merchandise. There were more people than chairs, though, so I suppose that's good.
The music would've been easier to appreciate if I could've heard most of the words, and if the drums hadn't been beating a rhythm on my heart (physically). Luckily, they bring ear plugs for all listeners, but I decided I w asn't up for the second half.... though I would be interested to hear a CD, since I'd be in control of the volume then.
Still, nice to get in the walk there and back, and to see Cthulhia and the other potluckers (potluckies?) who had made it to hear Hack play (I usually see him percussionizing on himself, which is much quieter....).
It was a good exercise evening too: in addition to the walk, Queue and I had a bike ride over to Fresh Pond and back (not *around* the pond, since there wasn't time. Perhaps another time. Though that means I have to figure out a way to cross Fresh Pond Parkway safely on a bike, something I hadn't been paying attention to before.)

Date: 2002-08-29 08:26 am (UTC)Bike around the pond someday, yes. It's a nice newish path. Short ride, but pleasant. Watch out for dogs. Everyone walks theirs there, apparently, and they have a bad tendency to wander in front of bicycles randomly.
Around Fresh Pond
Date: 2002-08-29 08:40 am (UTC)Years ago I used to walk around the pond. Monday I walked part of it for the first time in years, and was surprised at how little traffic there was. And I want to get a closer look at the finally-finished water treatment plant.
