First snow
Nov. 7th, 2012 09:53 pmCrazy weather; it's too early for snow! And yet, it's snowing. Despite all the wind from the glancing blow Sandy struck last week, there are still too many leaves on the trees for this to be a good thing for them. Still, when it started, I was excited; first snowfall is always beautiful, before remembering the responsibilities it brings. And now it's sticking, over an inch so far. It can't be, but it feels like it's more than we got all of last winter.
I think the window for harvesting oregano has closed; I would've had enough for a couple of months at least. At least I processed the green tomatoes into salsa.
On another note, the cold I think I picked up Sunday (arrived Monday morning, progressed with a vengeance through the day, so much so that I couldn't stay asleep, was bad through most of Tuesday, then tapered off in the evening (though still leaving me nervous about going to bed, given how bad the sleep had been the night before)) is pretty much over, except my poor sore nose. It was nasty, but at least it was fast, now mostly gone.
