Farm share, weeks 9 and 10
Aug. 17th, 2022 07:07 pmI was out of town last week, so gave my share to a friend. She got :
This week's share included:
three pounds of small to medium potatoes, many with purple or pinkish skin (edit: Purple Viking variety, which is an awesome name /edit)
two pounds of carrots
two bunches of red beets with greens
four enormous green bell peppers (I swapped two for another bunch of beets)
six of those mini/snacking peppers (all were yellow/gold/orange)
four hot peppers (I chose jalapenos; there were light green larger ones and narrow red ones too)
two bunches of herbs (I chose parsley and tarragon (not sure why about that one); they also had shiso, sage, oregano, thyme, and I think something else, too)
four heads of garlic
I'm not sure what I'll end up making; tonight I'm focused on canning some blueberries, and haven't yet started thinking about vegetable fates.
- twenty tomatoes (mostly plain red ones, medium to small, but a couple of yellow ones)
- ten ears of corn
- ten carrots (which was probably given in pounds, so maybe one pound, but her partner picked up, and he did not take a picture of the whiteboard of what the share was (my only request))
- six shallots
- a big bag (a pound?) of basil
- a big bag (a pound?) of "various wild lettuces"
