Winter farm share, pickup 1 of 12

I got a winter share through the same farm as this summer's share, Stone Soup Farm. It's twelve pickups, every two weeks from now until April.

• a big bag of spinach
  
• a bunch of green curly kale
  
• a bunch of flat-leaved parsley
  
• a ton of carrots (maybe five pounds? more?)
  
• a big bunch of oregano
  
• three heads of garlic
  
• a tiny head of Savoy cabbage (around the size of a baseball)
  
• three pounds of red-skinned potatoes
  
• two large purple-topped turnips
  
• five sweet potatoes

Totally cute ruffly cabbage.

Not nearly enough to consider sauerkraut, but maybe cole slaw, or colcannon...

You know, I'm sure I'll get through it (cooking for now or freezing or canning), but I kinda want something unusual, or unexpected. (I suspect this is more about the lack of newness in every other part of life these days, not actually about the farm share, but how it's coming out....)
