Farm share, week 3
Jul. 2nd, 2020 12:14 pm- two big heads of lettuce (one red leaf, one green leaf)
- two medium-large heads of Napa cabbage (inspiration sought, if you love Napa)
- five zucchinis
- five pickling cucumbers
- four heads of fresh garlic
- two huge bags of basil
- two purple kohlrabi
Also, a friend and I went in on a half bushel of Georgia peaches, and those got to me yesterday morning.
Current thoughts: lots of salad using lettuce, cucumber, kohlrabi, and maybe basil (would be nice if I had some avocado around, but don't currently); pureeing the basil (well, however close I can get with the food processor), adding olive oil, and freezing; putting the garlic and some of the garlic scapes from previous weeks into a peach-garlic chutney. Not sure about the Napa (I like most other kinds of cabbage better) - maybe a spicy peanut sauce after salt-wilting it? Maybe with cubes of fried tofu? There's still tons...
