Shabbat dinner: 4th night of Chanuka
Dec. 21st, 2014 04:01 pm- wine, challah: 4 braid (which is my usual shape, but done with intent for the 4th night, which counts, right?)
- soup: split pea (with sweet potatoes and onions)
- pickle plate: scarlet turnips, onions
roasted Brussels sprouts(er, ate these in lieu of lunch)- baked mac and cheese, with my first bechamel ever (texture worked out, though I should have had more cheddar than mozzarella. Use what there is, etc.)
- black radish, watermelon radish, and carrot salad
- baked butternut squash with sauteed red onion, chickpeas, and some super-spicy tomatillo salsa I made a couple of months ago
- cranberry sauce (very low sugar, using some leftover wine instead of water)
- dessert: inauthentic carrot halwa
