Shmini Atzeret lunch menu
Oct. 27th, 2014 06:43 pmI was hosting at the house of friends, since they have two kids young enough to consider afternoon naps. That meant everything had to be reasonably portable (read: no soup). Wednesday afternoon I made:
* polenta rounds topped with cheddar and roasted eggplant and onions
* jasmine rice
* cabbage, onion, and apple with vegan sausage and a bit of cider vinegar
* baked winter squash (a mix of carnival and delicata) mixed with sauteed onions, chickpeas, cumin, and toasted pecan pieces
I also brought over a round challah and a head of lettuce towards salad. There wasn't time to do delivery before candlelighting, though.
