[local eating] Farm share, week 15
Sep. 16th, 2009 10:43 pm- a winter squash (I chose carnival over spaghetti squash, since for some reason I never seem to end up using those)
- half a pound of carrots (a lot of purple ones, also orange, yellow, and white)
- two and a half pounds of potatoes (a variety of options)
- collards or kale (I got purple kale; lacinato seemed not to be in evidence)
- a head of (red-leaf) lettuce
- half a pound of mesclun
- two tomatoes
- three pounds of peppers (long red ones)
- a head of garlic
Current thoughts include roasted red peppers, green salad, and potatoes baked with rice and chicken (hopefully in some Persian-ish way, perhaps with garlic, pistachios, and carrots, a la shahee polo, desptie some people's minhag not to have nuts on Rosh Hashana (perhaps the carrots will balance out, given they've got their own bad pun)).
