This is what I've done today, as of just before 4 P.M.:
  • started three loads of laundry and finished four; everything is folded or hung up to dry in the apartment
  • took out the trash, paper recycling, and other recycling
  • got all the trash bins back in place after pickup
  • weeded some of the front yard
  • picked and washed sour cherries
  • made and canned a batch of sour cherry chutney
  • walked to Inman to deposit a check and get more canning lids and some mini jars
  • harvested a bunch of dandelion leaves
  • acquired and delivered food and medicine for a sick friend
  • sent many emails and made a site visit in the Case of the Missing CSA Boxes (still unfound, alas)
  • got groceries at Trader Joe's
  • sat down to breakfast at 3:30

I still have tons to do, especially since I'm going camping for the weekend. Some things can happen tomorrow, but it would be good to get as much as possible done today. The list includes: getting rain boots and velcro sandals, picking up the farm share, cooking yesterday's whiting (likely to be eaten with sauteed dandelion, turnip, and beet greens with preserved lemon), figuring out what to do with this week's veggies (and the end of last week's) and preparing/cooking them appropriately, packing clothes and food and camping gear, making arrangements with the newly-acquired passenger. Ideally I'd also get some sewing done, too.

How can you get anything dry? I have so much laundry piled up since our house is just too damp to do any laundry. (We don't have a dryer)
I may end up succumbing to the laundromat.

I do have a dryer (or, the building does), so there aren't a ton of things I'm hanging dry, just the ones that don't do well with dryers. They're not drying quickly, that's for sure.

I'm impressed that you started 3 loads and finished 4; usually one loses laundry in the process, not gain an entire load! }:->

Have a good time camping this weekend - rain boots sound like a fine investment. I might try to find myself a pair one of these days. As it was, I just wore my water-ready shoes the whole time I was camping.

Also, was it intentional that you didn't break your fast until 3:30, or just one of those weird oversights?

Hee! It was the laundry from yesterday I hadn't retrieved until this morning :-)

I'm at a not-good point in my shoe-niverse, with no really water-proof shoes, nor any sport-style sandals. Nor do I have work boots or ankle boots that are leak-free. I'd been deferring maintenance, which is never particularly smart.

I wasn't exactly fasting, since I was drinking bunches of water (and there was a shot-glass-full of leftover chutney), but I didn't have the energy to figure out what to cook and cook it, even though I have tons of ingredients. So I had cheese and crackers once I'd gotten crackers at TJ's.

Hee!

It's been a time of editing down and deferring, as a couple of unexpected things showed up and needed to be dealt with. A few too many of these in the last three days, actually.
