I hope Australia's recovery from massive
fires (more than 900,000 acres burned, whole towns
gone; I can't even imagine) will go well (unlike, say, cleanup after
Katrina...). My heart hurts thinking about all the people who were
killed, never mind all the property and animal damage. It's horrible
to think that some of this was deliberately caused.
An interesting read: Muslims in America
blog, people traveling the US interviewing Muslims, finding out how
their communities fit into the larger community. It also includes at
least one (non-Muslim) woman putting on a hijab to experience people's
reactions in a small town named Arab.
Audubon has a new study about birds and climate
change, showing many species wintering noticeably more north than
they did 40 years ago.
Considering Jews, food, and relationship to/stewardship of the land:
the Shmita Project.
In these lean times, the Ultimate
Cheapskate had some interesting ideas.
For locals: the Kennedy School calendar
of events.
