Farm share, week 15, and Boston Organics
Sep. 26th, 2007 05:34 pm- a pound of tomatoes (yellow and red, yum!)
- a pound and a half of peppers (all different colors)
- a pound and a half of onions (yellow and/or red)
- two pounds of potatoes
- a bunch of chard or collards or kale (I took the last, because it was lacinato kale)
- a head of lettuce
- a third of a pound of mixed salad greens (spinach, mizuna, arugula, tat soi; I got all but the first, which was looking like it would need cooking, not saladating)
- four hot peppers (I got jalapenos, but there were four different kinds, including habanero)
- a delicata squash
- a carnival squash
- a head of cabbage (not large)
Small box, one third fruit.
- a bunch of red chard (MA grown)
- an acorn squash
- three leeks
- a bunch of scallions
- twenty-one smallish red potatoes (MA grown)
- a bunch (two stalks) of broccoli
- a mango
- three oranges
- four peaches
- three nectarines
And a dozen eggs.
Hm. Perhaps there will be potato salad this yom tov. I'd think a vichyssoise would be nice, but I've got a bunch of soup already. Possibly cole slaw of some sort (I need to do something with cabbage!). Winter squashes will have to wait until chol ha'moed. And I should sautee the chard.
