The electricity seems to be on now; my answering machine picked up when I called home. Much relief.
Ten inches (plus a little, since some hair is longer) of my hair weighed 1.2 pounds. (Thanks to the orker who brought in a mail scale for me to bring.) Current length is mid-neck, just long enough to put up in a little stubby ponytail. Which I haven't done yet; it's more fun swishing it around.
Cantabridgians: there's a competition for the digital Cambridge photo to be used on next year's parking permit. Deadline is the end of the month.

Date: 2005-07-20 08:10 pm (UTC)So I've got ~3 foot of hair, lets round that up to 40 inches for convenience of mental arithmetic and because you think my hair is thicker than yours (and the bit cut off will've been the thinnest part of yours, too) ... so that's 4.8 pounds of hair I have! Which is rather nice - when I weighed myself last I was half a stone (7 pounds) more than the top of the acceptable weight range for my height and build and if 5 pounds or so of that is hair then no wonder I don't look my weight ;)
