Yesterday was really a Monday

I left the house later than I'd planned, given that I was walking rather than taking the T (darned lost T pass. But it got in a nice walk. So it was for excercise. Yeah. Definitely.), so rushed to make it to the dentist's. I started my day with two fillings (my first that are not amalgam; I was surprised to learn that the tooth-colored fillings harden in blue light, which is just cool. Then there was some confusion about the dentist bills, so now I find myself in the middle of an insurance situation; I have no idea if it'll be a big hassle or a little hassle (I'm assuming big, just because I haven't heard back from relevant people), and whether I'll end up paying for a lot more out of pocket than I'd expected. Sigh.
When I got to work, I found my bag had been pickled, the juice having escaped from the lovely sour pickles from Worcester. Better than something that would start to smell nasty, but annoying. Then I managed to drip yogurt on myself. There was a new server, so I had to figure out how to connect to it. Some file was not the same as the printout. Aetna's toll-free number doesn't let you talk to a person. And so on. Welcome back to work, with a vengeance.
And I was so tired by the time I walked home, I went straight to bed, do not pass dinner, do not pass email.
On the plus side, I picked up my new T pass. There were flowers for everyone at work; I have a single pink rose next to my monitor, one that smells nice, too. I did do the walk, which I sorely needed (though I really should email someone, likely the mayor of Boston, about the horrible bits of sidewalk on the Boston end of the Charles Street Bridge. It's a hazard, and as long as they're doing so much construction there, the pedestrian ways should be revamped, too.). I was able to wake up in time to make a late dinner (I thought I had frozen spinach, but what I found was the broccoli and rabe I'd sauteed with onions and garlic before the trip that I'd tossed in the freezer before I left. That joined more onions, ground turkey, and some preserved lemon, which worked out nicely.).
Really, not too horrible a day, just that I was a bit too tired to cope as well as I'd like. I wish I were sleeping better.
And a link I had to swipe from Cellio, because it's so cool, about Klein bottles, which made me laugh.

Date: 2005-06-01 10:10 am (UTC)I don't think there was a particular occcasion; there's a board of orkers who coordinate things like this, or teas, or meet&greet stuff, just to brighten the workplace. Oh, and some of the flowers were tulips or other things as well.
Yay for a new pass, and it's even nice colors, too :-).
