Free concerts

The Boston Landmarks Orchestra has free concerts throughout the summer, mostly in metro-Boston, but also in Chatham and the Vineyard.

They have four programs, each played a number of times:

1. Beethoven's 9th
   
2. "Landmarks of Freedom," including some Copland and a piece about Mandela
   
3. classics from the movies
   
4. concert for children, a narrated version of The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere

I'm planning on going to a couple of them. Anyone want to join me?

Argh. I'll be in Maryland on the 10th, and I've already got 2 movies to choose from on the 9th. But I'd really like to hear Beethoven's 9th Symphony. Grgle. I'll have to think about it.

I've got a cousin coming to town; I'm waiting to see if he's interested in the Beethoven. As for the "Freedom" Concerts, the only one that might work for me is the one August 1, in Dorchester. (I don't usually find myself planning a month and a half in advance like this.)
