Arts Funding
  • The electronica (house? dubstep? I really don't know the precise genres...) duo Zebbler Encanti Experience is raising money to afford going on tour with EOTO.
  • Jason started The Performance LAB (which now stands for Liars And Believers, due to another group somewhere in the middle of the country having a similar name), and is raising money for a new show this spring based on Song of Songs.
  • Madelaine has a Kickstarter page to have Madame Tullule's Grand Fiasco at Oberon.
  • There's also a Kickstarter project to have outdoor Shakespeare in Davis Sq.

Hee hee hee! This is an awesome shout-out list. :-) And CONGRATS on the official new business, that's terrific!

I call your attention to MuffinButtons (http://www.muffinbuttons.com/) (site sadly needing updating), as well as to my Computer-Aided Judaica (http://world.std.com/~muffin/design/judaica/artwork.html), which I'll be displaying at Havurat Shalom (http://thehav.org/index.html)'s Judaica Craft Show (http://www.jewishboston.com/events/6508-judaica-craft-show) on March 6!

And of course I still do freelance graphic design, as does [livejournal.com profile] gilana; I keep thinking we should all form a collaborative for one-stop shopping :-)

And you may certainly use our ketubah as an example of your excellent work - just attribute the basis for the border to my Mom. :D

Another opportunity to fund the arts: a Kickstarter project for free Shakespeare in Davis Sq.

Thanks for the 7deck plug. I'm also still pretty happy about http://suberic.net/~dmm/astro/constellations.html even though it's been almost a year since I finished them.

Is there any chance of a 7deck reprint in the foreseeable future?

I'd forgotten about your astronomical symbols! I know they're in the One Hundred Year Star Diary (whew, Amazon's price is not cheap!); are they used elsewhere as well?

7deck reprint is entirely based on demand. I think we still have a few decks from the first printing kicking around.

I finished the constellations 2 years after the star-diary. They're not used in any particular project (though I did print out a "10 Days In..."-style deck of cards) but I'm keeping track of other people's use of all my symbols at http://www.suberic.net/~dmm/astro/sightings.html .

I echo [livejournal.com profile] rikchik's thanks for mentioning the 7deck. Someone at school dropoff last week asked me "Are you the same Andrew Greene as on the 7deck?" --- I asked how she knew about it and she said she'd gotten it from you. (I'd say "small world" but when we're dealing with Camberville Jews that goes with paraleipsis.)

And we do have a few decks left; I should cross-check our inventory with any requests that have come in on the spreadsheet lately. I'll let you know; ping me next week if you haven't heard.

In fact, [livejournal.com profile] breedingimperf told me about identifying you off the 7deck :-). I'd given them a deck (for Hanuka, mebbe? not sure), figuring the game-mad youngers might come up with their own games as well.
