Farm veggies, week 15
Sep. 16th, 2003 05:43 pmJust the post you've been waiting for all week, with bated breath (Not baited, though, I hope. None of those worms coming out between your teeth and all. Much better to get the fairy to have flowers and jewels coming out of your mouth. Though I could imagine it could be unsettling to have flowers orally, too. But I digress.), unable to sleep, wondering "Will Magid get an eggplant this week? What about those hot peppers? And when will the winter squashes arrive?" Rejoice, for your sleep tonight shall be peaceful, free of vegetable cares.
This week, I got:
There were also dried dill seeds on the stalk, sitting in a box. I didn't know what I'd do with them, and they looked a bit fragile for transporting as is, so I didn't take any.
This week, I got:
- a purple eggplant
- a big bunch of bright lights Swiss chard
- a big bunch of mixed salad greens
- two green peppers (I want ripe ones, darn it!)
- three ripe hot peppers
- four tomatillos
- smallish two summer squashes, one of them pattypan
- four heirloom tomatoes, including one that is yellow-orange, with tinges of red, and about as big as my outstretched hand
- a bunch of five medium-size dark orange beets, with greens
- eleven carrots, about a pound, I'd guess
- many small-to-medium purple potatoes, a couple of pounds
