Farm share, week 14
Sep. 9th, 2003 10:52 pmJust a box this week...
Both mystery items are about the size of small oranges. One is a light beige, lighter on one side, ever so slightly textured outside. The other has a pattern of brown almost-stripes on a yellowish background, has a very smooth skin, and an aroma. According to the completely unscientific poll I took this afternoon, they may well be teeny melons (Yes, all obligatory melon jokes were made already, but thanks.). I can't imagine what *else* they'd be, so that's the assumption I'm working with, anyway. Thanks to all who gave their suggestions, fondling and sniffing my fruit in the process...
No eggplant :-(.
- two lettuces, one red leaf, one romaine
- four long leeks (hey, Bitty!)
- two green peppers
- two hot peppers
- a big bunch of bright lights Swiss chard
- a big bunch of some other green that looks similar, except that the stem's smaller
- a zucchini
- seven tomatoes, small heirloom to medium regular
- six carrots (including one tripod-like one)
- a lot of tiny purple potatoes, a couple of pounds or so (and they're incredibly cute)
- two mystery items!
