I found I have more ginger starting to bud. Perhaps this year I can manage to keep it growing even after I put it in dirt and get green shoots started. Part of me wants to cut off the buds and see what really new ginger is like (different texture? more/less intensity?).

Nasturtium leaves are fascinating in the rain, with many of them having a balance point for just one raindrop, which is not always where the network of veins in the leaf would imply. A silvery raindrop sits on each leaf, until another raindrop changes the balance of the leaf, and the raindrop rolls off, later to be replaced with another.

I should start going to the African dance class again; some of the Waterfire music made me think of using those sorts movements, and it's too long ago for me to remember much of it well enough to use.

According to this edible flowers site, arugula flowers are edible. So perhaps next Shabbat's salad will feature a couple of flowers (arugula and nasturtium).

Dumplings made with kamut flour have a texture more like extremely finely- ground corn meal than flour. Still, not bad, in a pinch.
