I think I missed hugging you as you departed, but here are some virtual ones, belated though they may be. Sorry if you didn't have someone to talk to who you would've liked to talk to. I know the feeling.

BTW, I really, really liked the story you read--the one written by your friend. (The chicken story was fun too--thanks for sharing :-)

I'm glad you liked the story so much. I was a bit nervous about reading it; it's about as long as I'd want to read aloud in one piece, and it's my friend's baby, as it were. I emailed her the reactions people told me to the story; she really was curious how it would go over.

(I tend to be leery of calling anyone late at night, since I'm an early person, and lots of my friends are too (and I also dislike the idea of interrupting someone during some planned time, too). Nothing short of medical emergencies seem worth interrupting people's sleep for....)
