As all the local people know, the forecasters were wrong again. Two to four inches it ain't. At least six, definitely, and it's not showing signs of stopping. The end time was revised from three-ish to seven-ish, too. It was beautiful watching the big clumps of snow fall so quickly from the sky while I was at the office, a view of trees slowly being covered. Except that I knew I still had to drive home, with all the idjits that seem to appear for this kind of weather. Like the "it's daytime hours, I don't put on my headlights" jerks, and the "lanes? what lanes?" people, and the ones who assume that it's just like any other day for tailgating and abruptly switching lanes. Gah. I made it home, though, in a reasonable amount of time (Due to the Pike being reasonably clear; Rte 128 was about 30 mi/h.). Not only that, but I also shoveled the front steps and walk. The snow is really lovely, dry and fluffy, so full shovelsful weren't particularly heavy. Still, shoveling is not the ideal exercise. I so wish it weren't Friday afternoon heading into Shabbat; I would grab the xc skis and go... But as usual, it seems to snow most when it's unlikely I'll get to do that.

On the headache front, it's still there. Yesterday I thought it was ebbing, but last night my sleep was interrupted, and somehow that seemed to make it worse. Luckily today Queue suggested a combination of aspirin, acetominophen, and caffeine, which, happily, the HR first aid box had. And it has helped. I'd felt distinctly peculiar at the kosher market this morning, and now my head is down to a low-grade ache. Perhaps after the next dose of these pills it will give up and go away (perhaps the enticement of playing in the snow if it leaves will help?).

One other health note: an old (in the sense of duration, not age of person) friend of mine has developed pneumonia, and has now been admitted to the hospital. If anyone is inclined to think healing thoughts / pray / send good energy / whatever for David ben Penina, I'd appreciate it.

And now to figure out just exactly what I'm making for Shabbat. I know it will involve a turkey leg, and likely some veggies cooked with it. Other than that, I'm just not sure (It doesn't help that I haven't done a real shopping trip in far too long. Must remedy that.)
