In a break with tradition, today's lunch did not include flatbreads, but barley salad.
Then we checked out the craft fair at 0 Church St. quite thoroughly.

Many errands later, hot chocolate at Burdick's.

A good day.

Sounds nifty. What's in barley salad besides barley?

Incidentally, you would have approved of the University's staff holiday party; they had a whole table of kosher hors d'oeuvres among all the other tables of food.

Mmmm.... kosher hors d'oevres. Yum.

Barley salad can include: olives, halved grape tomatoes, chopped-up sun-dried tomatoes, scallions, basil, and dressing (I usually have olive oil and vinegar. This time I had some lemon juice I needed to use, and added that too. Also added some watercress for more green, since today's lunch person likes cress. Also some salt and freshly ground pepper).
Other additions could include feta, artichoke hearts, diced cuke or bell pepper. Etc. Depends on what's around that strikes your fancy...
