Mutant movies
Aug. 29th, 2002 01:44 pmThe beginning of a new semester means a new schedule up at LSC (not to be confused with the hopefully-mostly-packed LSE), MIT's movie presenters. There are new(ish) movies, some classics (anyone interested in West Side Story or Rear Window on a big screen?)... and right now, a few... placeholder hybrids.
TBA 1: Mariah Myers in GoldGlitter (PG-13)
The sequel to the hit movie Glitter, this film follows the young singer as she defeats her evil nemesis, Doctor Weasel, who captures her Asian and French parents and attempts to perform plastic surgery on them to switch their ethnicities.
TBA 2: Spider-man and the Two Towers (PG-13)
While searching Gollum's lair, Aragorn is accidentally bitten by a genetically modified baby of Shelob. The bite transforms him into peaceful and musical Peter Piper, who must defend the dark tower and Orthanc from the rats who would pillage and des troy them.
TBA 3: Tea Talk with Mussolini (R)
Cher and Judi Dench team up with Dana Carvey as Linda Richman for this comedy-drama about three women in Brooklyn during WWII. It's like butter.
TBA 4: Symbols (R)
Director M. Day Shazaam delivers a fantastic thriller set at our very own MIT, starring Jason Biggs, Robin Williams, and Mel Gibson. An MIT janitor discovers strange symbols popping up on MIT classroom boards everywhere. A fear settles about the Facilities staff, as they conjecture that MIT will soon be taken over by aliens who are leaving messages on the boards to let people know they're coming. Will the janitor figure out the meaning of the symbols in time to save the Stata Center?
TBA 5: Training Night (NR)
A newly-recruited lady of the evening is trained by the local madam, who, as it turns out, is using her clients for her own personal gain. Will the young recruit help her boss, or turn against her, citing morals and obligations? This film contains adult content.
shamelessly stolen from this LSC schedule
