Random thought from Shabbat: smoke rating
Jul. 28th, 2002 01:30 pmI was sitting in my kitchen, yet again smelling my neighbors' grilling something-or-other (that's why I seem to always be wanting hamburgers in the summer...), and realized that some smoke is much nicer than other kinds.
So, from best to worst smelling smoke:
grilling meat
grilling vegetables
pipe smoke
burning wood (as long as it's not a building or anything....)
burning charcoal
cigarette smoke
cigar smoke
Those last two are definitely things to be avoided.

Date: 2002-07-28 08:22 pm (UTC)I like the smell of pipe tobacco, and the smell of a pipe being smoked is one that is not unpleasant in the way cigarettes and cigars are; perhaps a leftover from when my dad smoked a pipe (maybe twice a year).
