Farm share, week 5
Jul. 13th, 2022 07:33 pm- two bunches of purple carrots with greens (one bunch of just greens given away at the site; not sure how I'll get rid of the other one, but I don't like carrot greens enough to process them)
- a pound of basil
- two medium heads of green cabbage
- a pound of mixed salad greens (which looked great, but I still have salad leaves left from last week, so I swapped it for two more heads of cabbage)
- six pickling cucumbers
- two bunches of white onions with greens
- two bunches of hearty greens (I chose green curly kale and Swiss chard, leaving collards for others)
- four small summer squashes of various colors
First thoughts: sauteed chard with onion, walnut, and feta; a lot of cole slaw and/or sauerkraut, with cabbage and some carrots; pureed basil with the last of the garlic scapes (and maybe the scallions of the onions) and olive oil; sauteed onion, squash, and broccoli (left from last week).
