  • a sunshine squash (so pretty!)
  • two pounds of red-skinned potatoes
  • a pound of carrots
  • two long sweet peppers
  • four hot peppers (a variety of kinds)
  • an heirloom tomato
  • two and a half pounds of slicer tomatoes
  • a bunch of collards (apparently there had been kale, but that was gone by the time I showed up)
  • a head of green-leaf lettuce (I still hadn't used last week's lettuce (the cooler weather doesn't inspire me to salad), so I traded for more hot peppers)
  • a third of a pound of spinach

Another week without alliums, but otherwise, yum.

Thoughts: green salad, more canning (pickled hot peppers and/or tomatoes). The collards were already cooked with spaghetti squash and tofu.

eta, 9/18 Somehow I managed to forget: I also got an extra bag of veggies, because someone said I referred them to this CSA (I assume this is my mom). It included more red-skinned potatoes, a couple of heads of garlic, a delicata squash, and at least one onion (I haven't unpacked it yet).

There are lots of options for free events this weekend.

Friday is Park(ing) Day, and Cambridge has a lot of parks that will happen.

Saturday is Cambridge Discovery Day, for those interested in local history. Somerville has its first BIG tiny house festival. And in East Boston, there's the HarborArts Festival (if you want to see the dock I've helped paint, check it out).

eta, 9/18 Saturday is also Malden's River Festival, including dragon boats!
