Ultimate veggies (farm share, week 20)

Well, except for the winter share, but the end of the regular season.

• a bunch of kale or collards (lacinato kale all the way)
  
• three heads of garlic
  
• a butternut squash
  
• a gazinga head of cabbage (most of them larger than my head)
  
• four pounds of sweet potatoes
  
• two pounds of carrots
  
• a pound and three-quarters of turnips (three kinds: red, white, off-white with a bit of purple; I concentrated on the latter)
  
• a bunch of parsley or cilantro (the former, for me)

And because Breedingimperfection was again out of town for the holidays and again graciously gave me her share, imagine me carrying twice that home, plus

• four and a half pounds of apples

I had to stop a few times on the way to rest my hands, not surprisingly.

At least one of the cabbages will go into the sauerkraut: the batch I started just before Shmini Atzeret more than filled one big square glass container, so I have what was left over in the other one, but it's far from full. Of course, that might lead to yet more leftovers...
