Saturday night I went to the Boston Decompression gathering (party? It was, but that doesn't feel like the right word.). I'd read about Portland, SF, and NYC gatherings, and was totally looking forward to this, though I knew I wouldn't know most of the people there. food, people )space, )art. ) I'm still surprised I stayed as long as I did (I think the last time I stayed up all night was for the overnight ride over a year ago); I'm usually a morning person, not a night owl. I'm glad I did, though.

I know, I'm nuts. But this week's winter share pickup is the last before Turkey Day, so I'm actually thinking of another bulk order. As previously, if you have interest in anything, please let me know. I have to call in an order by Wednesday morning (latest) for it to arrive this Friday. Interestingly, they now say I can specify washed or unwashed (which lasts longer, but, boy, there was a lot of dirt on those potatoes and carrots).

All the options are listed below. My current thoughts are that garlic is always useful (and getting a pound or two means I can make lots and lots of roasted garlic), and another half bushel of onions would likely get me through to the next winter share delivery (I'm not done with the last half bushel, but I'm close, and have a couple of large meals coming up). Everything else is less likely for me unless someone wants to split stuff. The most appealing things for this are sweet potatoes, parsnips, purple potatoes (or fingerlings), or possibly butternut squashes.
