Supermarket recipes

No, not a building plan. I went grocery shopping last night, and an idea for what to make for dinner fell into my head as I passed the mangoes that were on sale.

So: fillet of salmon, thin slices of onion on top, then thin slices of mango. Quick grind of pepper, then pour a mixture of cider vinegar and brown sugar on top. Cook in a hot oven for 20-25 minutes. Don't know where this idea came from, but it came out rather nicely :-). Served with sauteed onions and spinach with pine nuts.

Pursue paradise

Last night I went to an opening at the Zeitgeist Gallery in Inman Square. Officially, the opening was between 6 and 10, but obviously, I went too early, since I missed music, Rich Mackin, and this. Still, got to see lots of posters for Bread & Puppets events, along with part of a video of one of their events, and lots of small publications, ranging from cards to booklets ("Two Chickens in Love," a larger one about making large puppets, etc). There was a calendar, with different messages for each month; I liked October's.
