Why is it that mere days after paving a street to be beautifully smooth there always seems to be construction digging into it, so you know it won't be smooth until decades from now when they decide to repave it aga in?
Noticed: smiling crescent moon and happy star on the trunk of some car.
Apparently my boss likes the veggies I don't care for (radishes and green peppers), so I foisted the radishes off on her. The green peppers had ripened in the fridge, so last ni ght I roasted them with onions and red and yellow tomatoes (sea salt, rosemary, olive oil). Yum.
Other cooking last night: mashed neeps, baked potatoes, roasted beets, veggie soup (using the delicata and all the carrots, among other things)(Pureed with th e new immersion blender. Interesting appliance.).
There is light at the end of the veggie tunnel...
Must delete the last game on my computer: apparently I am too much of an addictive type to have anything like minesweeper, hearts, etc, around.
I can't believe how wonderfully chill it is at the end of August. Sucks for farmers, I suppose, but having to use a blanket is lovely.
[Oh, and it's kinda interesting to watch as my left index finger's nail grows out. I'm fascinated by the curve (now about halfway up) that indicates where the finger-breaking trauma was. And it's hard to believe that it's more than 5 months and I can still see this.]
