Winter farm share, pickup 12 of 12

• a jar of giardiniera (given away for lack of hechsher)
  
• five medium purple-top turnips, rather imperfect
  
• a small bag of spinach
  
• a small bag of salad mix
  
• a small bag of arugula
  
• two three-quarters of an ounce packages of basil

This felt pretty light carrying it home.

That seems lighter, not just in weight, than your past shares, yeah. Five turnips (so a couple pounds?) and maybe a pound or so of greens? I wonder if there was supposed to be something more and it didn't work out.

The turnips weren't that big; if they totalled 2 pounds, I'd be surprised.

I think the farmer just didn't plan so well for this time of year, and ran out of whatever roots.

In general, I've felt that this share was not very diverse in what it offered, nor was it the quantity I'd expect, so I've signed up with a different farm for the coming summer.
