Today's moment of odd

I was sitting in the library, peeling a clementine while reading a book (yes, the library allows food in some areas). The woman in the next chair over asked if she could have my "orange" peels, unfolding a plastic bag for me to put them in. I had no problem with it (saved me a trip to a trash bin, after all), but did have a what-the-heck internal reaction.

What did you find odd, that she didn't know the difference between clementines and oranges, or that she wanted the peels? Poor vision could account for the former and a candied-citrus-peel project the latter.

No, the misidentification of citrus was completely normal. It was the wanting peels for some health reason (the smell helps somehow? or something along those lines, not a food project or a compost project), plus the oddity of a random person asking me for my refuse.
