Shabbat dinner, dairy edition
Jan. 1st, 2010 02:38 pm- grape liquid, matza (read: no flour in the house, too lazy to go in search of flour or made loaves)
- hummus
- vegetable soup: garlic, shallots, parsnips, purple-top turnips, potato, kale, the end of a bottle of red wine, lavender, thyme, salt and pepper, pureed
- delicata squash baked with honey and black pepper
- roasted carrots and parsnips
- wheat berries with herbed cheese, sun-dried tomatoes, eggplant-garlic spread, and chickpeas
- green salad with tomatoes and kohlrabi
- cinnamon apple sauce
- chocolate, dried fruit, nuts
Kinda starch-heavy, but I really wanted to get through more of the farm share. At least I didn't make potato salad as well :-) Oh, and all the fresh produce is organic, except the apples that went into the applesauce, which were IPM/low-spray.
