I saw the first lilacs blooming last Friday. I forget between times how much I like them; the scent is entrancing.
As heard on NPR: an artist who makes bookbags. Which is to say, bags made from books.
I'd not known that outside English-speaking countries, it's quite common for crochet patterns to be in crochet symbols rather than words.
The hot days we had a couple of weeks ago had me planning my routes from shade to shade, just as when I was a little kid. It interests me how walking routes change with the weather: seeking maximal shade in the heat of the summer, maximal dryness when it's raining (avoiding not just puddles, but the area sprayed by road puddles when cars pass), and optimal passability/through routes with the best-cleared surface through the winter.
I'm pondering making some strawberry liqueur. Perhaps it could be used in a chocolate cake, or with angel food cake and fresh sliced strawberries.
