Food for Shabbat
Apr. 24th, 2009 02:55 pmI'm trying for a "use what you have" meal; all I had to buy was chickpeas (I still haven't done a big shopping trip since Pesach, which I should do soon.).
- baked sweet potatoes
- cabbage sauteed with apples'n'onions, and a touch of cider vinegar
- green salad with any of the following: lettuce, mesclun, spinach, tomatoes, pickles, walnuts, almonds, hearts of palm
- chicken thighs slow baked in a covered casserole with rice, chickpeas, slivered almonds, preserved lemon, and freshly-ground pepper (if I'd had raisins, I might've added them, and crushed tomatoes too)
- grapefruit and/or strawberries
