Short stuff
Mar. 13th, 2009 05:26 pmI just got a phone call. Mechanical voice says something about a car warranty, press 1 for a human sales bot, press 2 to have the warranty converted (ok, I'm paraphrasing). I was just curious enough to press 1, and wait through many ringie-dingies. Male voice answers, "Hello, can I have your car make and model?" I ask him if he really thinks a '97 Corolla is likely to still have a warranty on it. Then he hung up on me. I wonder just what the scam would have been.
I'm thinking of going to the Book as Art exhibit at BC's McMullen Museum of Art some time.
Do "palm" and "pom" (-egranate) sound the same to you?
Best license plate, over at Porter Square:
MUGGLS
Best sentence from a word problem today: "Jupiter and Melbourne are 89 miles apart." Which had me thinking that NASA would be kinda cranky at those Aussies.
Alas, it is much less interesting with context: Florida does have two municipalities with these names.
For those who love the Bard and a certain Saturday morning cartoon: a slightly revised Hamlet.

Date: 2009-03-13 10:00 pm (UTC)As you know, I don't own a car, and have not owned one for several years. Also suspicious is that they are the only people who call my cell phone, whom I have not given my cell phone number to (aside from the occasional, obviously wrong number calls). I really, really wonder where they got my number from, because I'm pretty selective about who I give the number to.
