Oct. 23rd, 2008 10:50 amI can't make it to this talk this coming Tuesday; if someone else goes, I'd love to hear/read about more specifics. (Note to anyone in the PA-NJ-NY area: this is happening on other nights this and next week in and around; link after the cut.)
The Coming Israeli Environmental Revolution
The Coming Israeli Environmental Revolution
Presentation by Dr. Eilon Schwartz, of the Heschel Center for Environmental Learning and Leadership, Israel's top organization dedicated to the building of a sustainable future for Israel rooted in environmental health and social justice.
Under the radar screens, in hundreds of communities throughout Israel, a quiet revolution is taking place. Citizens are organizing, envisioning a sustainable future, and acting in countless ways to make that future a reality. We will metaphorically walk the land of Israel, meeting some of the people and places - educators, community organizers, farmers, architects and planners, scientists and entrepreneurs, from diverse Jewish and Arab communities -- who together are remaking the Israeli landscape.
