Farm share, first week
Jun. 11th, 2008 07:25 pmHuzzah, for it's CSA time! *happy vegetable dance*
I have a share in Red Fire Farm, out in Granby, MA.
The loot:
It's way too much lettuce for me to get through in a week; if someone could use it, let me know.
Also, a Boston Organics delivery, small box, all vegetables.
Hm. The list on the box includes a leek, which is definitely absent. Time to email them.
I have a share in Red Fire Farm, out in Granby, MA.
The loot:
- a bunch of cilantro (given away at the distribution site)
- a bunch of flowering chives
- three Hakurei turnips with greens
- a bunch of red radishes with greens
- two humungoid heads of lettuce (green leaf was all that was there when I arrived)
- a quarter pound of mesclun (including some little curly green that looked like curly parsley but packs much more of a wallop; closer to arugula, I suppose, but not that either)
- three-quarters of a pound of spinach

Date: 2008-06-12 02:08 am (UTC)I'm planning on bringing salad to a party on Saturday. The party is big enough -- I should be able to get through all of the salad bits.

Date: 2008-06-12 02:36 am (UTC)The board didn't list the kind of turnips; I recognized them from farm shares past. I don't yet know the person doing the distribution at Harvest in Cambridge yet, but other people who've done that have tended to have lots of useful information if asked.
Yay parties that like salad :-)
