new person
Mar. 3rd, 2002 08:22 pmI got an email last week from the sister of some friends of mine, someone I'd never met (though I've met the rest of her family, except her mom). She's thinking of moving to the area for a year, and is coming on an exploratory trip. Could she stay over one night? Of course I said ok (I've had much more tenuously connected-to-me people come to stay. Sometimes it's annoying, but mostly it's interesting.).
She arrived tonight, and I am so reminded of her siblings. I hope she does move for the year - she's a cool person, and it was easy to talk with her. Even though she wouldn't be really local, I'd likely get to know her more (no, no nudge nudge wink wink...), and I'd like that.
There's a special feeling when you meet people you think you'll end up being good friends with. It doesn't always happen when meeting to-be friends, but I like when it does.
