Woke up with it yesterday, assumed I hadn't gotten enough water over the weekend, hydrated aggressively. In the afternoon, it started feeling worse, and my sleep was interrupted. I've taken today off, as now my neck is sore/tender. I hope it's enough to stop it getting worse.

On the plus side, at least I've figured out what to do with the massively-ginger syrup I'd made a couple of weeks ago; eating it straight means my throat gets the ginger burn, which blocks the soreness.

oh dear! I hadn't seen this all day, but heard later that you were under the weather. The ginger syrup sounds good. Hope you're improving too.

Thanks. I'm not sure if I'm improving or not; hopefully I'll be able to tell tomorrow morning (for the better).

The ginger syrup is pretty intense; I'd been wondering whatever I'd do with it, and the slices of ginger in it. (So far, all I've thought of for the ginger is to boil it another couple of times in yet more sugar syrup, to calm the slices and make more syrup :-)
