  • An unexpected side effect of the Mahoney's on Mem Dr. closing: that extra little block it was on is now closed off on Sundays like the rest of that stretch, which is annoying. I need to remember the traffic pattern has changed.
  • Trader Joe's has kosher Pop Tarts! Well, toaster pastries, anyway. Nature's Path stuff is all organic, too. I had the Apple Cinnamon ones, and they're pretty nice. (Though I would've been very happy to never have seen the phrase '"kidalicious" EnviroKidzTM line" (of products).)
  • I need to remember that I have addictive tendencies when it comes to games (sometimes reading, too, but I seem to have replaced games for books). Games that can be played solitaire, so I can keep on playing and playing and playing and playing... even when I know I need to stop. *sigh*
  • There's a kosher pickle factory in Worcester! I got to sample their sours and half-sours, and yum! (I'm not even a big pickle fan, either.) Note, though, that the "small" container is one gallon, the large is four gallons.... Perhaps I need to host something at which I can serve lots of pickles :-).
  • I got a couple of day passes from Healthworks. Anyone (female) interested?
  • Happy (happy?) Memorial Day! (should that be Mem Day?) For the Britishers, happy Bank Holiday (is it the spring holiday?)

to do
  • order a composter, gosh darn it!
  • buy dirt, and transplant plants
  • find some new skirts and/or jumpers for summer
  • figure out what I want to do about the mortgage (ie refinance or not)
  • consider upgrading to DSL (any suggestions for providers?)
  • pay the dentist
  • clean, laundry, dishes, cook, yadda, yadda, yadda
  • write the posts that have been meandering around my head, if only to make room for something new.

I've been happy with Verizon DSL.

I've been very happy with Speakeasy. (They do have a kickback program, where I can get a few bucks credit if you order with this URL.) For bandwidth junkies, they have a 6.0Mbps/768kbps ADSL deal if you're close enough to the CO.

There are several models of composters that are sold at very low prices at the Cambridge DPW yard.

See Robert Winter's web site page on composters (http://www.rwinters.com/compost/).

Thanks for the link.

I'm planning to get a worm composter this time, though, since it's more designed to work on a porch (taking up less space, not as smelly, not needing contact with the ground), which is what I have.
(I tried getting one for the house, but I don't tend to remember to bring stuff down to the yard, for the three seasons it's accessible, and no one else used it. Hence, plan 2...)

Before I give them all my info... about how much is it/month for a minimal sort of deal?

D'you know an approximate cost/month for a minimal package?

There's a chart of their home package prices. At the low end, 768/128 is $40/mo (and $100 for the hardware; they're waiving install fees at the moment).

$30/month with a 1-year commitment. And they apparently will give you the first month free if you sign up online (http://www.verizon.com).

One is spoken for, I think (and I should've brought it to work today, but I forgot). The other's open. Er, you're already a member, right?
