One of my husband's friends adores fried pickles. So far I've managed to turn down his offers to make me a sample batch. :P

I just can't wrap my brain around it, wet pickle in crunchy batter. And I keep thinking the pickle would become soggy, too.

I wonder if this is easier to imagine if one has had fried ice cream...

I think that's where I get squeamish: Contrasting textures are not always bad, but neither are they always good. Wet pickle, crunchy batter? Ewwww.

Fried pickles are one of my favorite foods. It's sort of like fried mozzarella sticks -- the mozzarella doesn't get soggy and neither does the pickle.
