magidThis morning I was on the train at Kendall, and they told us to get off the train. It was immediately obvious why: I could see and smell the smoke from one of the later cars. The fumes were rather noxious, so I decided to walk. Happily, I had company, since Mattlistener had been on the train, too. I was glad not to be stuck on an unmoving train, at least, and the weather this morning is perfect for a walk. I got to work rather later than I'd planned, but at least I got to see ducks (brown, white, and bronze) on the way.
Scientists have figured out why hair turns gray, a side effect into research about melanomas. Apparently if they can convince similar cells to do the same thing, there may be a treatment for malignant melanomas. Interesting.
Whee! Thanks to some very thoughtful people, I am now food processor enabled! That plus the toaster: my kitchen is entering the 20th century! (Must figure out where to put things, though, which isn't trivial. Perhaps it's time to rethink the kitchen.) I wonder how much it will change my cooking style.
Houseguests remind me how nice it can be to have someone around to talk to.
Yet another interesting thing to do some day: take an architectural tour of the main BPL at Copley.
