Dad ended up having 'only' a triple bypass, and apparently the doctor is very pleased with how it went. No complications, getting blood vessels from the leg required only a small incision, all seems good.

The boy had his port taken out, and is now in the 72 hour waiting period to make sure the infection's gone before having the next one put in, hopefully on Monday. He was in good spirits this afternoon (and has already mastered the alphabet song, and how to give a variety of stuffed toys factor. His father kvelled when the boy (2.5 now) said he wants to be a doctor :-).)

Glad to hear your dad's procedure went well. Do they have an idea how long till he can go home?

*crosses fingers for a quick recovery for both of them*

Just got a call from Mom; there were complications after all. He'd apparently been on meds to prevent clotting, so after the surgery, they.... prevented clotting. He was opened up again, things are fixed now, but not sure when he's coming home just yet.

Thanks. Some complications after all (see my reply to Theora), but it sounds like he's really out of the woods now.

Definitely better.

I appreciate all the good thoughts; it's helped me be less stressed, too.

*whew*

Thinking of you....I tried to respond to an earlier post of yours (was late reading LJ) but LJ was yucky and it wouldn't post.

LJ has definitely been having a couple days of frustrating-ness.

I've been thinking of you, too; maybe there will be time to hang out sometime? (Looks like I'll have more flexibility soon :-)

I'm wishing for him a quick refuah shelaimah. Good thoughts to you and the rest of the family, as well.

Thank you. It's still not quite smooth sailing, but there seems to be clear sailing soon...
