How can I focus on work when there's so much rampant tree sex going on right outside my window? (Those fuzzy things are even blowing into and coating the underground parking lot.)

Are squirrels dumber this year? 'Cause I'm seeing a lot more of them killed in the middle of the road.

The cloudscape today is beautiful.

Dragon boats are old rowing shells redecorated. It's not the dragon head and tail that make them look so different, though. Having 16 people use a canoeing sort of stroke rather than 8 people rowing strikes me as incredibly inefficient, especially since they seem to be moving more slowly. Also, the track left in the water is less interesting than that of shells being rowed.

Well, you have the added weight of twice as many bodies, but each stroke is far more powerful because it contains the full strength of one person rather than half that.

I don't think that's it. There are twice as many bodies, but their motions are less efficient. And on a rowing 8, each person has one oar, not two, btw.
