Papal presidential medal of freedom

Today I heard about Bush giving the Pope the Presidential Medal of Freedom, and all I could think about was how this seemed to be more about a photo op and showing more Xtian values, stuff like that, rather than a true award to the Pope, who's on record opposing the war in Iraq.

Yes. I don't think the Pope and $hrub like each other very much. But it makes a good photo op, especially if $hrub is trying to court Catholics in the upcoming election.
