Upcoming events that may be of interest...
The Underground Railway Theater is presenting "A State of Grace: And Exploration of the Literature of Grace Paley through Performance and Discussion" 7– 9 tonight at the Central Square branch library and Thursday night at the Cambridge Main library.
Next weekend, May 1 and 2, is Somerville Open Studios, noon to 6 pm each day. It's huge, and there are some wonderful things to see. Scholargipsy and Pheromone will both have art on display, I believe, and it's always worth while to see what Hilary Scott has done.
ArtsFirst is a Harvard tradition, four days (May 6–9) of arts, of all sorts (music (vocal and instrumental), dance, plays, a parade, improv, a magic show, a tea ceremony....). Almost all of it is free.
Momix is performing Opus Cactus May 6–9 at the Cutler Majestic Theatre (previously, the Emerson Majestic). It's being put on by CrashArts. Tickets range from $25–$45. From the few times I've been in the space, even seating in the balcony is quite good for visibility.
The Harvard ceramics Program is having its spring show/sale May 20-23. On the 20th, hours are 3–8 pm, while the other days are 10 am–7 pm. The last day the seconds are put out, and there's usually a huge line waiting for them.
